Hi, thank you for your comment. The lack of truss rod and frets is due to the fact that this bass is designed to target the sound of a double bass.

Very good video! Your soldering is the best I have seen while searching for guitar wiring. You bundle the wires so they aren't flopping around and you make your actual soldering very neat.

経験上、タイトボンドを水で薄めると成分上乾燥後でも粘着力が弱くなると思います。
コメントありがとうございます。 僕も同じように考えます。可能であれば、薄めないほうが接着力は強いと思います。 木に浸透して、楔のようになるボンドなので、薄めるとその楔が少なくなるイメージです。 ただ、この動画の場合折れた部分の奥の奥まで浸透させるには少し薄めてあげないと折れた面積全体に塗布できないと考え、薄めたのだと思います。何分昔の考えなので、記憶が少し曖昧ですが、そのように考えたと思います。 逆に手前側スパチュラなんかで塗布できる部分の接着には薄めていないタイトボンドを使っていると思います。 あとはタイトボンドの使用期限などもありますね。新しいものと古いものでは、やはり新しいほうが接着力が高いと感じます。これは強く感じたことはないですが、そんな雰囲気を感じます。 なのでタイトボンドを買うときは一番小さいのを買うようにしていたりします。 長文失礼いたしました。 大変参考になるコメントありがとうございます。

Absolutely outstanding craftsmanship, old school diligence and a true work of art. You gained a subscriber and an admirer today. Even your restoration left pretty much everything original; you even refinished the headstock without touching the logo. Very nice work. I didn’t notice you working the truss rod or measuring the action. Was it simply already good and didn’t need adjustment or did you perform that adjustment when you sawed the nut? Also didn’t see you perform and adjustments on the tremolo for intonation, same question, was it already good or did you just adjust it at installation and we did not see it?
Just a note to anyone else wanting to do this. If all you're after is a color change, a poly finish can take paint quite well as long as it is fine sanded a little so the new paint can stick. There's not need to go through all the work of stripping it back and then prepping it, and the bonus is you already have a very smooth finish to start with as a base.
Only original once. The difference between the 1960’s and 1970’s guitars is ten years. Super work…
